I’m Roberto Torres Casanova, a puppet and prop maker devoted to the art of stop-motion storytelling. Born in Venezuela and raised between the Caribbean Sea and the American Southeast, I carry a lifelong love of toys, cinema, and the belief that everything has its destiny.
With a strong foundation in live-action filmmaking and photography, I approach sculpting with an instinct for how design supports narrative, framing, and emotional clarity.
My strong suits are within the boundaries of:
Concept & maquette — clay maquette / digital sketch to confirm scale and expression.
Armature engineering — calculate range of motion, leverage, and animator ergonomics.
Sculpting & molding — sculpt heads/parts, create molds for casting.
Fabrication & finishing —  assemble, punch hair.
Rigging & testing — pose and test under motion to make sure the puppet performs for the animator’s needs.
I bring a filmmaker’s eye and an artist’s precision. I’m accustomed to and comfortable with strict timelines, collaborative revisions, and on-set problem-solving.
